The leather used starts from hides sourced from the American food chain. A company founded in the 1800s to service the Gold Rush sends those hides around the world to be processed for specialty makers. The rest of the components are also from the United States. Zippers are made in the YKK factory in California, thread is from Georgia and tags are printed in Chicago.
Zina Kao is based in Oakland, CA, making beautiful things with care, in American, by people who love and live the craft. Quality materials are a paramount starting point. They pattern, cut, and sew leathers in the Oakland studio, and dye in small batch in a dye workshop.
